TheOPPORTUNITY

Leverage your industry experience and join our team in thisWorkers Compensation Claims Adjusterrole!We are seeking aworkers' compensation adjuster toprovide front-line customer-focused handling of lost time complex claims for an assigned market.This adjuster will be responsible for all aspects of coverage, investigation, negotiation, and resolution within established best practices while utilizing independent judgment in decision-making and managing the claim in a prompt and thorough manner from inception through closure. The success of our company is rooted in teamwork, the way we care about the people we work with and serve. This remote role will allow you to do your best work from your home office, collaborating virtually with your team daily. You will travel to our Raleigh office for meetings and company events up to four times a year.

Your WORK as a WC Claims Adjuster will make a difference as you:

  • Handle all aspects of investigation and settlement of assigned claims to include interviewinginsureds, claimants, witnesses, and physicians; evaluating and making recommendations regarding coverage of claims; determining liability and the total value of claims; negotiating settlements and making recommendations regarding litigation.
  • Oversee litigated claims and manage litigation expenses within budget
  • Monitor and adhere to periodic claim file diaries consistently create a written plan of action to facilitate ongoing claim management, quick resolution,andbest possible outcome
  • Interact regularly with agents/brokers,insureds, Risk Management, and Underwriting Department
  • Ensure timely and independent compliance with all management directives and performance management standards
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending Builders Mutual sponsored training classes plus participating in industry conferences and seminars

Skills to get the JOB done RIGHT:

  • 3+years of workerscompensation litigated and lost time claims handling experience for South Carolina and North Carolina; experience in Kentucky and/or Arkansas are a plus.
  • SC or reciprocal state adjuster license required; other licenses in our footprint are a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in the use and knowledge of MS Office software; knowledge of policy processing and imaging systems
  • Valid driver's license is required for occasional business travel
  • Demonstrated ability to work independentlywithminimal supervision
