Job description

Department: Managed Services

Open to Texas, Oklahoma, Idaho, Missouri, or Tennessee residents ONLY.

There are (2) open positions for this role.

The Certified Coder is responsible for all group practice coding activities. This includes responding to physician questions, analyzing coding trends, providing physician and staff training, completing chart audits, reviewing documentation requirements, reviewing encounter forms for current codes

SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED
  • Must possess knowledge and expertise in coding services, procedures and diagnoses for physician practices.
  • Must have knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD9 coding and medical terminology.
  • Must abide by all company confidentiality requirements
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication
  • Problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAININGRequired:
  • The Certified Coder must pass a coding certification exam sponsored by one of two nationally recognized organizations (American Academy of Professional Coders or American Health Information Management Association).
  • Must have at least two years coding experience and maintain yearly renewal and CEU requirements.
