Job description

At Novum Home Loans, we’re building a different kind of mortgage company - one designed to provide advice and value to the military community through their home buying journey. We believe the best outcomes come from a great process, great technology, and great people working together.

We’re assembling a high-performing sales organization built around discipline, preparation, and real expertise - not sales theatrics. Novum is seeking Loan Officers who want to do meaningful work, operate at a high level, and help set a new standard for how Veterans and military families experience home financing.

What You’ll Do

  • Advise potential home buyers through the home financing process with confidence and clarity
  • Serve as a trusted guide - helping clients understand options, tradeoffs, and next steps
  • Quote rates, payments, and program details accurately and transparently
  • Work closely with internal processing and operations teams to deliver smooth, predictable closings
  • Manage a pipeline of warm, inbound leads and convert them efficiently into closed loans
  • Take a consultative, solutions-oriented approach tailored to each borrower’s situation
  • Ensure compliance with VA, investor, and regulatory guidelines at every stage of the process
  • Become highly proficient in Novum’s technology stack (POS, CRM) to drive efficiency and reduce friction

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 2+ years of residential mortgage lending experience with an active NMLS license
  • Proven ability to take borrowers from first conversation through application, pre-approval and closing
  • Comfortable operating in a high-volume, inbound environment with urgency and discipline
  • Clear, confident communicator with clients, agents, and internal teammates
  • Strong understanding of loan products, pricing, and structuring - especially VA loans
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple transactions simultaneously
  • Anticipates issues before they become problems
  • Motivated by mastery of the craft and pride in doing the job the right way

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with serving Veterans or military families
  • Experience working in a digital, direct-to-consumer mortgage model
  • Startup or high-growth environment experience
  • Military experience, or come from a military family

What’s In It for You

  • Mission-driven work: Help military families make one of the most important financial decisions of their lives with confidence and clarity.
  • Career growth: Clear paths into senior sales roles and leadership as Novum scales nationally.
  • Skill development: Structured training, process-driven execution, and real-time feedback designed to make you better at your craft.
  • Competitive compensation: Strong base + performance-based incentives with uncapped upside. Top performers earn well above industry averages.
  • Flexibility & focus: Remote-friendly environment built around outcomes, not hours logged.
  • NOTE: This position is FULLY REMOTE

Benefits

  • We want our team focused, supported, and proud of where they work. Benefits include:
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage (with some plans fully covered)
  • Generous paid time off and emphasis on sustainable performance
