Job Description:

Position Schedule / Shift: Flexible schedule, hours of operation Monday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pm EST.
Position Summary: The Travel Services Associate is responsible for processing and maintaining travel-related accounts while ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and quality of all travel bookings. This role gathers and verifies booking, payment, commission, and account information; investigates and resolves discrepancies; and provides timely support to travel agents and members. The travel services associate also performs quality control reviews, processes account transactions, prepares travel documentation, maintains customer records, and generates reports in accordance with established policies and procedures. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering accurate and efficient service in a remote, fast-paced, travel operations environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Processes a variety of documents relating to travel accounts and quality control all travel bookings. Duties may include:
Data Gathering
  • Gathering appropriate data and reviewing the data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Responding to inquiries from travel sales agents, and others regarding booking inquiries and cancellations.
  • Obtaining and verifying payments, commissions, and other types of information.
  • Investigating and resolving sometimes complex processing problems.
  • Calculating sales commissions.
  • Researching and adjusting account balances when misapplication/overpayment of monies occurs.
  • In accordance with corporate guidelines and procedures, initiating correspondence with agents/members to clarify or obtain missing information, investigate discrepancies, etc.

Data processing and QC
  • Processing a variety of documents relating to travel accounts.
  • Quality control all travel bookings.
  • Correcting balances and payment records.
  • Entering transactions and balancing cash entry changes into systems as necessary.
  • Preparing online cruise and tour documents as necessary.
  • Maintaining various records on customer accounts, analyzing data, and preparing reports as required.
  • Maintaining electronic and manual procedures for actions, according to established procedures, and assisting in investigative reports.

Qualifications:
Required
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience
  • Processing transactions and posting to appropriate accounts.
  • Investigating and resolving sometimes complex processing problems.
  • Performing data entry duties and accurately maintaining a 6,000 keystroke per hour data entry rate.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Performing mathematical calculations to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
  • Willingness to rotate within area as needed to perform various processing functions and/or to complete training.
  • Communicate effectively with others in a work environment and with the public.

Preferred
  • Ability to perform monetary transactions (e.g., key entering data into cash terminal, adjusting account balances, etc.).
  • Knowledge of basic travel terminology.
  • Ability to make discretionary decisions based on existing information.

Work Environment: Works in a temperature-controlled office environment. May work in remote/virtual environment. Willingness and ability to work extended or irregular hours, holidays and/or weekends.

  • The starting hourly rate for this position is $17.00/hr.

Part-time employee PTO hours are calculated based upon the standard weekly hours the employee is scheduled to work and will accrue at a minimum of 3 hours per month.
  • Paid Holidays: Full-time employees are eligible for 10 company-paid holidays annually, in addition to 1 mental health day, 2 floating holidays and 1 volunteer day. Holidays vary by business unit schedules. Part-time employees are eligible for 8 company-paid holidays annually, in addition to 1 mental health day and 2 floating holidays. Holidays vary by business unit schedules.
  • Paid leave programs, including parental, bereavement, jury duty, and military leave.
