Position Summary:
The Account Relationship Manager is responsible for developing strong customer relationships and supporting sales growth within an assigned territory. This role partners closely with Stellar Specialists, supplier representatives, Customer Experience, and Operations teams to deliver value-driven solutions that improve customer performance and profitability.
As an entry-level sales professional, the Account Relationship Manager focuses on growing existing customer relationships while developing new business opportunities through consultative selling, territory development, and exceptional customer service. Success in this role requires strong communication, organization, relationship-building skills, and a desire to help customers solve operational challenges.
Compensation: This position offers a competitive base salary, with additional earning potential through a commission incentive program. Total compensation will vary based on individual performance and applicable commission plan terms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Account Management & Customer Relationships
  • Manage multiple customer accounts within an assigned territory while maintaining high levels of customer retention and satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication and on-site visits.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of customer operations, challenges, and business objectives.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while serving as a trusted advisor to assigned accounts.

Sales Growth & Territory Development
  • Establish and execute sales growth plans for assigned customers and territories.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Stellar's products, service offerings, and value-added solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers through networking, referrals, research, cold calling, and business development activities utilizing ProtonAI.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize territory development activities to achieve established sales goals.

Consultative Selling & Value Creation
  • Develop a consistent understanding of Stellar's Value Proposition and apply it effectively during customer interactions.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce customer costs, improve efficiencies, and strengthen operations through value-added solutions.
  • Document and communicate customer cost savings (DCS) resulting from Stellar's products and services.
  • Collaborate with Stellar Specialists and supplier representatives to deliver customized customer solutions.

Collaboration & Professional Development
  • Partner with Customer Experience, Operations, Specialists, and supplier representatives to ensure exceptional customer support.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, pipeline activity, and sales opportunities within ProtonAI.
  • Stay current on product knowledge, industry trends, and Stellar systems and tools.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Professional Standards
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, accountability, and ethical business practices.
  • Represent Stellar positively in all customer interactions.
  • Support continuous improvement and contribute to team success.

Hours/Schedule:
  • Full-time, exempt position.
  • Schedule may vary based on customer needs and territory requirements.
  • Frequent travel throughout the assigned territory is required, including occasional overnight travel for customer meetings, training, and sales events.

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Experience:
  • At least 1 year of outside sales, account management, business development, or customer relationship experience required.
  • 1-3 years of outside sales, account management, business development, or customer relationship experience preferred.
  • Industrial distribution, manufacturing, MRO, or technical sales experience is a plus.
  • Mechanical or technical aptitude preferred.
