Job Summary:
Caterpillar Inc. is a global leader in manufacturing construction and mining equipment. They are seeking an Application Developer for cybersecurity focused web applications, responsible for development, operational support, and collaboration with product architects.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for developing various internal cybersecurity focused web applications to realize and grow our service offering.
• Partners with product architects in resolving technical matters associated with our product and associated service offerings.
• Provides daily operational support and maintenance for one or more products needed to deliver the team's service offerings.
• Interfaces with internal process partners and vendor support staff to resolve technical issues attributed to products supported by the team.
• Execute development driven by agile user stories and features for supported products
• Achieve sprint efficiency and deliver milestone goals.
• Perform testing during development processes and QA prior to production deployment.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Security Engineering/Architecture, Computer Science, or comparable experience.
• Entry level skillset in application development including various programming languages and frameworks (i.e. Python, HTML, TypeScript, SQL, React, Flask)
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology
• Familiarity with the use of various AI Models (github Co-Pilot, Claude, Chat GPT, Grok, ETC).
• Experience in Developing web applications with a focus on delivering upon customer requirements
• AWS Cloud Experience
• Good Knowledge of software development processes, security assessments in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process, and secure coding.
Preferred:
• One or more professional certification(s) from an accredited institution (CISSP, CCSP, GWEB, Linux, Python, CISSP, etc.)
• Working knowledge of Caterpillar Cyber Security Policies and Directives
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, as well as written/verbal communication skills
• ServiceNow incident/request management experience
