\n The Network Engineer shall manage the Agency's day\-to\-day network operations through monitoring the system's health and performance, creating technical engineering workflows and diagrams, establishing key monitor and performance metrics, developing technical documentation, documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs), standardizing the overall network daily operations, improving IT service delivery to the client staff, and responding to urgent requests to restore service and address other high priority needs.

\n Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage day\-to\-day network operations to include routing and switching, network monitoring, load\-balancing, and management of VPN appliances.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Replace network infrastructure such as Cisco switches, wireless controller systems, access points, and telecom equipment.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Ensure network logs are transmitted to the security information and event management (SIEM).
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Assist in reviewing and implementing customer changes consistent with existing policies.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Review and update documentation to ensure consistency with current procedures.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Work outside of normal business hours to support outage resolution, planned maintenance, or to implement an upgrade.
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Follow industry best practices, NIST guidance, and agency policies to identify potential issues and inefficiencies in the client's network infrastructure and provide options for resolving them.

  • Perform other related duties.

  • Respond to urgent requests to restore service and address other high priority needs, including break fix when network infrastructure is down or severely impaired affecting:

      Requirements<\/h3>\n
      \n Basic Qualifications:<\/b><\/span>
      <\/b><\/span><\/span>\n <\/div>\n

      • Bachelor's degree in an IT\-related field with minimum six (6) years of experience configuring and administering network technologies such as Cisco, managing site\-to\-site IPSEC connections to minimize and eliminate network downtime for mission critical applications.
        <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
      • Any of the mentioned certifications required: CCIE, CCNA, CCNP, CNE.<\/b><\/span>
        <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
      • Hands\-on configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting for the Internet backbones, network fabric, data center interconnections, and remote access, which are traversing multiple platforms including on\-premises and in the cloud, routing and switching, hardware and software, load\-balancing VPN appliances, Wireless controller systems, Access points, and telecom equipment.

      • Ability to perform continuous monitoring of the network infrastructure by utilizing, managing, and configuring network monitoring tools.<\/span>

      • Ability to work in a fast\-paced environment while maintaining outstanding customer service skills.<\/span>
