AIT is seeking a Dispatcher I! We are flexible on start time, if needed along with extra hours to be earned on the weekends, if applicable.

The Dispatcher I is responsible for overseeing and documenting the pickup and delivery of local shipments, as well as coordinating and communicating shipment information between drivers and delivery agents.


  • Responsible for routing local freight, dispatching drivers, performing dock checks, tracking shipments, working with dock staff members to ensure movement of freight.
  • Timely event data entry of shipment milestones into MyAIT & AS400 tracking system – pickup, delivery, obtain proof of delivery.
  • Provide customer service to identify and meet specific customer needs. Answer/make customer inquiry calls and address customer concerns/complaints.
  • Assign driver load planning based on local mapping & appointments accordingly.
  • Identifying and coordinating the prioritization of rushed/urgent/last minute shipments.
  • Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary.
  • The wage range for this position is $22.70-$32.00 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.

Other Skills We Hope to See:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalency required; Associate Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 0-3 years in Freight Forwarding industry experience preferred and/or industry experience in customer service/operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Previous Experience working with AS400 preferred.
  • Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills with abilities to develop new ideas and innovative solutions.
  • High attention to details and organization.
  • Strong geographic and mapping skills. Sense of direction and coordination to build routes.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills with customers, drivers, and co-workers—communication is key!

In addition to your base compensation, you may be eligible for a bonus based on achievement of business and/or individual performance metrics (dependent on position).
