Job description

Aerospace is at a turning point - costs are rising, supply chains are strained, and old ways of building can't keep up. At Neon Aero, we're breaking that mold. We move fast, think big, and combine start-up agility with aerospace expertise to design, build, and scale aircraft in ways the industry has never seen. Our team leverages automation, AI-driven tools, and a fully connected digital backbone to accelerate innovation and reduce barriers to production.
Here, you won't just take a job - you'll help reinvent how the world flies. If you're ready to solve complex problems, push technology further, and work alongside some of the brightest minds in aerospace, this is your chance to make a real impact.
Neon is seeking an Associate Engineer - Propellers to support the design, analysis, and documentation of aerospace and mechanical systems. In this early-career role, you will contribute to CAD modeling, engineering drawings, structural analysis, analytical modeling, and manufacturing-support activities while working alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams. This is a strong opportunity for someone with an aerospace or mechanical engineering foundation and a genuine interest in aircraft, mechanical systems, manufacturing, and hands-on technical problem solving.
Why This Role Matters
  • You will help turn engineering concepts into accurate models, drawings, and product-definition data used to support real aerospace hardware.
  • You will support product design and analysis work that contributes to aircraft-related systems, components, and assemblies.
  • You will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve manufacturability, technical quality, and design readiness.
  • You will gain exposure to CAD design, structural modeling, FEA, GD&T, model-based definition, and engineering documentation in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
  • You will contribute in a collaborative work environment that may include office-based engineering, lab interaction, manufacturing coordination, and hands-on technical support.
  • You will work in a project-driven setting where priorities may shift based on program milestones, design reviews, manufacturing needs, or test activity.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Entry-level engineering experience appropriate for an Associate Engineer 1 role, including academic projects, internships, co-ops, research, manufacturing exposure, or hands-on technical experience.
  • Interest in mechanical systems, aircraft, manufacturing, and hands-on engineering.
  • Familiarity with CAD design and dimensioned engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with analytical modeling, structural modeling, FEA, or engineering analysis.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, engineering requirements, and design inputs.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical work.
  • Strong collaboration skills and willingness to learn from senior engineers and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly in writing and discussion.
  • Ability to work in an office-based engineering environment with periodic interaction in labs, manufacturing spaces, prototype areas, or secure work areas.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working on a computer and move between office, lab, manufacturing, and secure areas as needed.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to comply with applicable ITAR, export control, program, and company security requirements.

Preferred
  • Internship, co-op, or hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ANSYS or similar engineering analysis software.
  • Experience with FEA, structural modeling, or analytical modeling.
  • Experience creating or reviewing CAD models and dimensioned engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with GD&T.
  • Familiarity with model-based definition.
  • Academic, project, internship, or work experience involving aircraft, mechanical systems, manufacturing, prototype hardware, or test support.

Why Join Us
  • Work alongside elite engineering talent and innovators from across aerospace and tech.
  • Be part of a team moving faster than the industry standard.
  • Shape solutions that are lower-cost, autonomous, and scalable - the future of aviation.
  • Competitive compensation, including equity participation, growth opportunities, and full health benefits (health, vision, dental, 401(k)) designed to support you in and out of work.

This pay range is specific to the location where the role is posted. Final pay will depend on experience, skill level, and other job-related factors.
