Job description

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for performing research, development, design, and testing of product. Design work is monitored and reviewed by a senior level engineer.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Work in a team environment to analyze requirements from the customer and develop design solutions
  • Completes engineering drawings using Autodesk Inventor to ensure conformance standards
  • Completes engineering designs based on Raycap's manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Ensures items on fabrication drawings are detailed correctly through design collaboration, peer-review, drafting check or other departmental functions
  • Communicates with engineering, composite fabrication, and steel fabrication vendors as required
  • Participates in engineering review meetings (ERM) and R&D efforts as needed
  • Maintains list of jobs completed within the engineering department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accreditation considered a plus)
  • Prior experience with creation of assembly of 3-D sub-assemblies into main assemblies required using solid modeling CAD software (experience with Inventor/SolidWorks a plus)
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with low-volume, high-mix products, preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willing to work onsite, in office daily and willing to support manufacturing as needed
  • Ability to work to a schedule and achieve timelines
