Job description

Overview

The ETF trading group at GTS is looking for Summer 2027 interns to work on a variety of projects in the quantitative trading space, such as: building analytics tools to assist traders making real-time trading decisions, analyzing historical trade data to draw insights and inform our trading strategies, designing and testing quantitative models for new strategy development. Interns will be working directly with senior traders throughout the program and have a strong influence on the direction that their projects will take. They will gain insight into how the trading desk operates and how our traders evaluate trading opportunities. They will see their work directly impact the group's activities and drive revenue.

This program is the perfect preparation for those who will be seeking graduate positions in quant trading. The ideal candidate will be a high achiever with a strong quantitative background. They should be very comfortable working in Python and eager to improve. They will have a lot of initiative, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and thrive in a competitive environment. They should have an interest in building their understanding of trading, but a background in finance is not strictly necessary. If you have the quantitative skills, we can teach you the rest.

GTS is a collection of financial services companies spanning a wide array of asset classes and investment approaches, all powered by the combination of market expertise with innovative, proprietary technology.ย  With roots as a quantitative trading firm continually building for the future, the GTS family of companies are able to leverage the latest in artificial intelligence systems and sophisticated pricing models to bring consistency, efficiency, and transparency to today's financial markets. GTS's electronic market maker GTS Securities accounts for 3-5% of daily cash equities volume in the U.S. and is a leading Designated Market Maker (DMM) at the New York Stock Exchange, responsible for nearly $13 trillion of market capitalization.
