Job Description

We are seeking an Entry-Level Hardware Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of server and data center hardware. This role focuses on hands-on hardware support, component replacement, equipment deployment, and infrastructure maintenance within a data center environment.

The ideal candidate has experience working with computer hardware, servers, or technical equipment and is comfortable performing physical installations, diagnostics, and repairs while following established procedures.

Key ResponsibilitiesHardware Installation & Deployment
  • Perform rack and stack installation of servers and related hardware.
  • Support Middle of Rack (MOR) buildouts and hardware deployments.
  • Stage, route, and label power and network cables.
  • Install hardware components and peripherals according to documented procedures.
Troubleshooting & Repair
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot server and hardware issues.
  • Replace failed components, including drives, memory, power supplies, and other field-replaceable units (FRUs).
  • Perform basic server repairs on rack-mounted and discrete server systems.
  • Conduct power cycles and hardware resets as required.
  • Scope, test, quality-check, and troubleshoot power and cable connections.
Systems Maintenance
  • Install software, firmware, and hardware updates.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
  • Clean and maintain fiber optic connections and links.
  • Assist with system validation, testing, and quality control activities.
Asset & Hardware Management
  • Maintain accurate hardware asset records and inventory updates.
  • Perform physical audits of equipment and storage media.
  • Process hardware returns and RMA activities.
  • Support asset tracking and equipment lifecycle management.
Required Skills
  • Experience working with computer hardware, servers, or data center equipment.
  • Rack and stack experience.
  • Hardware troubleshooting and component replacement.
  • Cable management and labeling.
  • Basic understanding of networking connectivity and hardware diagnostics.
