Job description

As our Health Information Services Tech, you will manage the day-to-day activities of collecting discharged records, prepping, and scanning them into the electronic medical record (EMR) and/or other designated systems.

Every day you will verify correct patient medical record and account numbers, ensure timely scanning so records are accessible for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations, and maintain strict privacy and confidentiality of protected health information in adherence to HIM policies.

To be successful in this role, you will possess meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information while efficiently managing electronic medical records.

  • Able to perform all entry level function, duties, and tasks in the Health Information Management Department.
  • Demonstrate proficiency of the designated computer systems and the electronic medical record.
  • Accurately prep records for scanning.
  • Collect discharged records.
  • Responsible for data entry, create, and maintain spreadsheets/logs.
  • Meet qualitative and quantitative standards.

Required

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred

  • Experience in healthcare
  • Basic computer skills
