Job description

Job Summary:
Nintendo of America is dedicated to creating smiles through unique entertainment experiences. They are seeking a Language QA Tester to ensure the quality of consumer-facing documents and in-game text in Brazilian Portuguese, by leveraging language expertise and collaborating with various teams.
Responsibilities:
• Checks consumer-facing documents and in-game text and voice for context, grammar, spelling, possible trademark issues, and overall presentation to ensure text quality meets Nintendo standards.
• Leverages language and cultural expertise when reviewing text, to ensure that the resulting experience resonates with the user and reflects the intent of the developer.
• Uses testing toolset to report bugs and confirm fixes in a timely and efficient manner.
• Provides feedback to leadership to inform project test plans, tool usage/features, etc. for current and future work.
• Works regularly with translation and writing staff to monitor progress and address text issues with the shared goal of improving testing quality and procedure.
• Processes work for multiple testing projects and provides respective project communications to consistently meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 1-3 years of proofreading experience in a high-volume, deadline-oriented setting in Quality Assurance industry.
• Advanced level proficiency and formal or professional experience writing/editing in Brazilian Portuguese language.
• Experience in publishing and/or editing in Brazilian Portuguese.
• Ability to identify possible culturalization issues and propose possible solutions.
• Strong familiarity with Nintendo franchises and awareness of industry trends, especially in target market.
• Highly organized and be able to manage multiple projects at any given time.
• Undergraduate degree in target language or equivalent degree, or equivalent experience.
