The Field Services Division is seeking highly qualified individuals to fill the positions of Engineer I/II .
Job Description
General Functions :
Engineer I: Performs routine engineering assignments. This is an entry-level classification performing professional engineering work. An employee assigned to this classification may be required to supervise assigned staff working on all phases of a project. Work is performed with some independence under the limited supervision of the designated supervisor.
Engineer II: Performs advanced professional engineering work. This is advanced engineering work with some supervisory responsibilities. An employee assigned to this classification is responsible for more complex and diverse projects. Supervision is exercised over a staff or crew of technical or clerical positions. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the designated supervisor.
Representative Duties /Assignments
  • Core member of the Division's leadership team that supports the Division Manager including Data management procedural development and oversight; develop, maintain and implement projects to support Divisional priorities and ensure work is being completed efficiently and effectively to meet OCU goals. Coordination within Field Services and with other OCU Divisions to ensure internal and external stakeholder requirements are met.
  • Develop and analyze improvements to asset data management.
  • Perform one-of-a-kind projects to implement new procedures and enhance operational practices.
  • Develops and maintains Microsoft Power BI dashboards and analytical models to evaluate operational performance, infrastructure condition, and resource allocation.
  • Conducts the design, testing, and implementation of new software systems, databases, and applications, including solutions developed in Python and VBA, ensuring compliance with established standards and operational requirements.
  • Designs and implements engineering data solutions, including migration, integration, and validation of large datasets across multiple platforms.
  • Automates technical workflows, reporting processes, and system monitoring tools to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and improve accuracy.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to staff in the use of applications, databases, and reporting tools.
  • Utilizes Microsoft Office applications to prepare reports, presentations, and technical documentation for management and staff.
  • Prepares and delivers findings, dashboards, and recommendations to leadership to support informed decision-making
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification
Engineer I:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or information technology and information systems
Engineer II:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or information technology and information systems, and one (1) year of utilities or data analysis experience.
Preferences
Experience with Power BI, Python, Maximo, GIS, and Data Analysis.
