Job description

Job Description: 
We are seeking an entry level electromagnetic and signal integrity engineer to support the design, modeling, and optimization of RF systems, including transceivers, power amplifier, pallets, linearizers, digital interfaces, from DC to 100 GHz. You will serve as the subject matter expert for 3D full-wave simulations supporting the RF Power Business Unit, and other business units within MACOM. 
Key Responsibilities: 
Perform advanced 3D modeling of high frequency RF systems, including multilayer printed wiring board, housings, connectors, transmission lines, vias, and other RF structures using Ansys HFSS or CST Studio Suite. 
Develop multipaction simulations for high power, high frequency, vacuum environment power amplifiers. 
Work with RF design teams early in the design stage to optimize crosstalk, isolation, resonant behaviors of cavity systems and/or multilayer printed wiring board. 
Work with mechanical engineering teams to optimize housing and mechanical structures to minimize radiated emissions and minimize any cavity resonances. 
Perform detailed signal integrity measurements and characterization using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, TDRs, VNA) to correlated hardware performance to simulation results. 
Qualifications: 
BSEE in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics. 
Successful completion of electromagnetics courses. 
Strong understanding of transmission line theory, impedance matching, and equalization techniques. 
Knowledge of signaling protocols for high-speed interfaces, including SerDes, UCIE, etc. 
Scripting skills to automate the measurement / simulation flow (MATLAB, Python, other). 
Skilled in using lab equipment for signal measurement and characterization (oscilloscopes, network analyzers). 
Incredible attention to detail with a focus on impeccable quality. 
Excellent time management skills to work with multiple projects for multiple managers with competing deadlines. 
Effective communication, organization, and documentation skills. 
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build long-lasting partnerships.  
Proficient in Microsoft Office. 
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
