Our Software Engineer (Journeyman) will provide software support for the sustainment and modernization of the US Space Force Satellite Control Network (SCN). The SCN provides highly reliable telemetry, tracking, command, communication and control (TT&C3) for more than 170 Department of Defense (DoD), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), civil and allied satellites. The SCN consists various satellite tracking stations across the globe and operational support nodes at Schriever Space Force Base (SFB) and Vandenberg SFB. Our Software Engineer will perform software sustainment engineering on the various mission and non-mission systems using Agile Software Development. In this role, you will: * Perform software studies to find replacements for existing mission software * Perform trade studies and proof of concept development and testing * Develop new software release processes * Review, analyze, and modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support application systems * Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives * Coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases. * Analyze (through demonstrations, proof of concept, performance, and end-to-end testing) and effectively coordinate Infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs * Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions. * Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. * Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming. * Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures. * Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas. * Supporting testing, writing and executing automated test scripts and unit tests * Coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases. * Analyze (through demonstrations, proof of concept, performance, and end-to-end testing) and effectively coordinate Infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs. * Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions. * Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. * Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
