Ericsson developed ASICs are the backbone of our Baseband and our Radio network products, and our challenge is to validate and deliver those so that our 5G and 6G leadership position in the market accelerates. Our ASICs will be challenging when considering the overall combination of complexity, power, performance targets, and advanced process node technologies. We can assure you that Ericsson's innovation provides an exciting work environment. Ericsson seeks a motivated recent graduate to join the SW/FW Development Team, focusing on coding to validate and debug ASIC hardware before release. You will collaborate with engineers in Austin and Sweden across IP, ASIC, and system levels to help ensure the final ASIC meets quality standards and supports our technology leadership.
What you will do:
  • Work with team members to design, build, and test ASIC device drivers and test cases using C/C++ in the Zephyr RTOS framework, or gain experience with Linux kernel and driver development. Training and mentorship will be provided.
  • Help create framework and infrastructure components in Python to support automated test environments, learning from experienced engineers as you grow your skills.
  • Work to assess and visualize ASIC test case coverage, using your analytical skills to spot areas for quality improvement.
  • Participate in hands-on lab testing and proof-of-concept work to demonstrate and verify improvements in code and test coverage, gaining practical experience in a collaborative environment.
  • Join technical discussions with colleagues to help resolve issues and contribute to the development of scalable and reusable testing frameworks and cases, learning to communicate effectively in a team setting.
  • Bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to identify technical innovations that enhance Ericsson's validation processes and methodologies.
  • Build relationships with ASIC architects and collaborate to help define coverage plans and debug issues, developing your professional network and learning from experts in the field.

The skills you bring:
  • Experience in C/C++ and Python, particularly in hardware and embedded software projects.
  • Practices and promotes strong coding standards and best practices.
  • Familiarity with GIT and integrated development environments (IDEs).
  • Some exposure to Unix/Linux systems and basic bash scripting.
  • Eager to take on hands-on lab work, including Linux-based system management, scripting, test platform setup, and operating test instruments.
  • Comfortable collaborating with teams across different regions and disciplines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly present technical ideas to engineering audiences.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, technically curious, and able to work independently on new or unclear tasks through to completion.

  • Exposure/Ideas on how to leverage AI for validation coverage analysis and code development efficiency.
  • Exposure to and experience with network communications.
  • Exposure to and experience with hardware emulators and validation platforms.

Your Pay
The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
The salary range for this position is
Bachelors degree: $107,825 USD - Sign on bonus $8,500 USD
Masters degree: $119,175 USD - Sign on bonus $11,500 USD
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan (select STV or SIP): Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.
Sales Incentive Plan (select STV or SIP): Your pay also includes the opportunity for sales incentives as a part of Ericsson's Sales Incentive Plan. Actual payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual incentive target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.
Your Health
Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of three medical plan options and a dental plan option that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.
Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson match $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson's full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.
Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
