Job description

Rise Up Innovation is seeking an outgoing, professional, and motivated Entry Level Communications Assistant to join our growing team in Detroit, MI. This full-time, on-site position is well suited for recent graduates, early-career professionals, and individuals looking to build practical experience in communications, marketing, customer engagement, client relations, and brand representation.


In this role, you will support local communications and marketing initiatives while interacting directly with customers and clients. You will help communicate campaign information, support promotional activities, answer customer questions, assist with outreach efforts, and contribute to a positive overall customer experience. Previous experience in communications or marketing is not required. Rise Up Innovation provides hands-on training, ongoing coaching, and opportunities to develop professional communication, customer service, and campaign coordination skills.


Communications Assistant Responsibilities

  • Communicate professionally with customers and clients during local marketing, promotional, and outreach initiatives
  • Provide clear and accurate information regarding represented products, services, promotions, and campaigns
  • Assist with the execution of local communications and customer engagement strategies
  • Build positive relationships through friendly, professional, and consistent communication
  • Support campaign preparation, promotional materials, event coordination, and on-site activities
  • Answer customer questions and help identify appropriate products, services, or available solutions
  • Maintain organized records of customer interactions, campaign activity, appointments, and follow-up
  • Work collaboratively with team members to strengthen customer engagement and campaign performance

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Available to work full-time and on-site in Detroit, MI
  • Reliable transportation for commuting to the office and assigned locations
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional, dependable, and positive attitude
  • Comfortable communicating with customers, clients, and members of the public
  • Organized and capable of handling multiple responsibilities
  • Able to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Willing to learn new communication, marketing, and customer engagement strategies
  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, events, communications, marketing, promotions, or related customer-facing roles is helpful but not required
