ENTRY LEVELS RECEIVE $15,000 HIRING BONUS*
LATERAL OFFICERS RECEIVE $20,000 HIRING BONUS*
City of Bowie police officers are charged with maintaining order, protecting life and property, and upholding the laws of the State of Maryland and the ordinances of the City of Bowie. Must perform regularly assigned duties under General Orders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• 21 years or older upon graduation from the Academy;
• High school diploma or GED equivalent;
• U.S. citizen;
• Valid Maryland Driver's license;
• Must pass physical agility test, written exam, background check, and drug screening.
*COVID-19 vaccination is strongly preferred*
ENTRY-LEVEL RATE: $29.82 per hour ($62,018.18 annually)
***LATERAL OFFICERS may be eligible to start at up to $38.66 per hour ($80,401.68 annually) upon approval from the Chief of Police
