Job description

For this position, the ideal candidate possesses strong active citizenship skills demonstrated by building right relationships, taking ownership, governing, problem solving, decision-making, and effective communication skills. Ability to take an active role to identify opportunities and barriers, engage with the proper stakeholder(s) to close gaps. Participates in governing meetings to help create and sustain an abundant and just environment.
Seeking a long-term employee (year-round) for an entry-level position to learn scratch bread baking. Multiple positions are available. Candidates must have an interest in bread. Experience is appreciated but not required. On the job training will be provided. Job duties encompass all aspects of bread production including mixing, shaping, proofing, baking, and shipping.
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Must be available between the hours of 10am and 8pm. Weekend availability is a requirement.
  • Looking for someone who can work between 24-40 hours a week.
  • Prioritize and work without supervision, a self-starter.
  • Assists with food preparation, proper product handling, ability to read and understand formulas for mixing product, baking, proper packaging, and labeling.
  • Ensures freshness and quality of all products.
  • Maintains safe work environment, cleanliness of workstation, uphold food safety and sanitization standards in the Central Bakery.
  • Able to lift/carry 5 to 50 pounds and follow proper lifting techniques. Needs to be able to push/pull 5 to 75 pounds. Frequent repetitive motion required including but not limited to reaching, standing, stooping, bending, turning, and walking.
  • Food handling experience is preferred, but not necessary.
