Job description

Established NY/NJ based HVAC Controls Contractor has immediate openings for Entry

Level HVAC Controls Technicians. Responsibilities may include installation of computer

hardware, mounting of devices, periodic running/pulling wire, limited piping and

bending, performing control panel modifications, and other activities as required.

The successful candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • Knowledge of basic wiring procedures for line voltage and low voltage systems

  • The ability to read and understand wiring schematics

  • Ability to understand AC/DC systems and circuits

  • Strong hands-on mechanical skills

  • Familiarity working with PLC’s is a plus

  • Must be able to work well with others while maintaining a professional and courteous attitude

  • Must be customer service oriented and able to communicate effectively with clients and other employees

  • Must be able to take, as well as, give directions on projects

  • Complete projects in a timely manner

  • Must participate with any required in-house or customer training programs

Education / Experience:

  • High School diploma at a minimum, plus Technical Trades school is preferred

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred

  • Read/write/speak English

  • Ability to work overtime – as needed

  • A strong working knowledge of computers and networking principles is preferred

  • Computer hardware and software proficiency is preferred

  • Ability to use standard software programs such as MS Office to track jobs, material and produce job documentation as required

Working Conditions:

  • Our work is focused in the Healthcare industry in NYC. This may require vaccinations and fully complying with customer specific site requirements

  • Will be working independently and/or with other employees

  • We perform all types of BMS related systems work from minor renovations through major modernization projects

  • Work may be performed in active/occupied spaces, as well as Machine Room type areas

  • We must comply with all NYC and customer safety requirements and receive site specific training where required

  • Potential employees may be asked to undergo a background check pursuant to NJ/NY law

  • All employees carry the NYC SST card; training will be provided
