Job description

Position Overview
The entry-level Laboratory Analyst performs technicalprocedures related to DNA analysis within a high-throughput laboratoryenvironment. Primary responsibilities include sample preparation, DNAextraction, DNA amplification, and electrophoresis to generate operationaldata. This position requires strict adherence to quality protocols, safetyguidelines, and established standard operating procedures.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities
DNA Analysis & Data Generation: Perform routine high-throughput molecular biology procedures, including sample preparation, DNA extraction, DNA amplification setup (PCR, qPCR & dPCR), and electrophoresis.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain specialized laboratory instrumentation, including thermal cyclers and capillary electrophoresis systems, utilizing accompanying data collection software.

Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with laboratory procedures and quality assurance protocols to maintain sample continuity and integrity. Assist with QA/QC tasks to meet ISO 17025 guidelines.

Documentation & Laboratory Duties: Document and maintain accurate laboratory records. Prepare standards and reagents, and complete daily, weekly, and monthly duties according to the analyst schedule.

Health & Safety: Follow laboratory Occupational Health and Safety practices to handle hazardous and biohazardous materials using the necessary precautions.

Collaboration & Communication: Coordinate and communicate clearly with colleagues within the Department to support operational efficiency and project management.
