What’s Next for You?

We are seeking a ENTRY LEVEL EDM & CNC Programmer to join a growing tooling department. In this role, you will be CNC and EDM setting up, programming, and operating a variety of CNC and manual machines to manufacture and repair molds, dies, and tooling components.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong machining knowledge who enjoys working with precision equipment and tight tolerances.

DIRECT HIRE

Pay: $22–$/hr (higher for the right candidate!)
Location: Spring Lake, MI
Schedule: First shift 7am-3:30pm (5-8 hours of OT during the week) Rare weekend work


Key Responsibilities
  • Learning Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and EDM machines
  • Learning programming using G-code and/or CAM software
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Learning to work with tight tolerances (as close as 0.0005”)
  • Learning  to select and build fixtures and tooling as needed
  • Learning to download/upload CNC programs and make adjustments as required
  • Monitor machining processes and inspect finished parts
  • Learning to troubleshoot machine issues and respond to alarms
  • Perform routine machine maintenance
  • Operate multiple machines when needed
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S)

Skills & Qualifications
  • CNC Apprenticeship or other machining aprenticeship
  • Knowledge of how to perform setups and make tooling adjustments
  • Familiarity with G-code programming and/or CAM software
  • Knowledge of software such as Mastercam, BobCAD, OneCNC, or AutoCAD preferred
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and measurement skills
  • Knowledge of using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Fanuc controls is a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot and work independently

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Manufacturing or machining experience required
  • Vocational training or Journeyman certification is a plus
