What is an entry level production assistant?

Entry level production assistants are support staff who help with the day-to-day operations on film, television, or video productions. Their duties can include setting up equipment, running errands, managing paperwork, and assisting different departments as needed. This role is often a starting point for individuals looking to build a career in the entertainment industry, providing hands-on experience and opportunities to learn from more experienced crew members. Entry level production assistants need to be organized, flexible, and ready to take on a variety of tasks as required by the production team.

To thrive as an Entry Level Production Assistant, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of film or television production processes, often supported by a high school diploma or relevant coursework. Familiarity with production equipment, call sheets, and industry-standard software like Microsoft Office or scheduling tools is helpful. Excellent communication, adaptability, and a proactive attitude are standout soft skills in this fast-paced environment.
