The Level 1 Hydro Operator is an entry-level position responsible for supporting and performing basic operational tasks related to hydrostatic testing in pipe production. This role is part of a structured on-the-job training program focused on skill acquisition and safe operations.

  • The purpose of this position is to operate or support the operation of production equipment and perform processes related to manufacturing flexible pipe and develop fundamental skills necessary for safe and effective hydrostatic testing operations in pipe production.
  • Hydro Operators participate in a structured on-the-job training program to develop basic skills through the completion of competency modules and hands-on training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual in this position must use initiative and judgment arranging job details to achieve predetermined objectives. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.   • Performs job duties under close supervision from Lead Operators or Supervisors.
  • Follows standard work instructions and adheres to safety and quality procedures.
  • Supports equipment setup, material handling, and post-test processes.
  • Completes basic documentation and learns to use ERP scanning and LabView software.
  • Understands and supports hydrostatic test processes, including data sheets and reports.
  • Participates in training modules and gains certification in Mentor Acknowledgement form, SSE Training Competency Program (Module A), Basic Skills Competency program (Module 1 Part 1) Basic Equipment Competency program (Module 1 Part 2), Hydrotest Competency program (Module 2), Hydrotest Quality Inspection Competency Program (Module 4)
  • Assists with Preventative Maintenance (PM) as directed.
