The Coordinator for Entry-Level Recruitment is responsible for managing all aspects of the entry-level non-partner lawyer recruitment functions. The Coordinator works closely with the New York Manager of Entry-Level Recruitment, Hiring Committee members, People and Development professionals, and other internal constituents to support the recruitment, development, and retention of legal talent. The Coordinator provides strategic direction and implementation for lawyer recruitment at the local office level, while executing firmwide initiatives and strategy. This position is also responsible for providing support to successfully grow the firm through proactive entry-level recruitment efforts in a manner consistent with the firm's strategic goals.

The position is based in our New York office. Overtime and flexibility to work outside of regular business hours, including evening and weekends, will be required during peak recruitment seasons. Some travel will be required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work proactively with the local Hiring Committee, Director of Entry-Level Recruitment, New York Manager of Entry-Level Recruitment, and other legal recruiters across the firm to anticipate and determine summer associate and entry-level hiring needs and goals.

  • Create and implement best practices for entry-level recruitment at select national and local law schools.

  • Recruit the highest quality of law students by fostering strong relationships with local law school career services offices, student organizations and candidates.

  • Organize and execute on-campus recruiting events, including networking receptions, dinners, coffee chats, career fairs and information sessions, managing all logistics and ensuring a seamless candidate and stakeholder experience.

  • Coordinate on-campus and callback interviews, including identifying and scheduling interview teams, managing candidate communications and follow-up efforts and facilitating the offer process.

  • Develop and execute the New York Summer Associate Program, including budgeting, planning and implementing the program's social calendar, developing and delivering orientation programming, overseeing work allocation and evaluations, coordinating summer associate training and managing the offer process and follow-up efforts.

  • Work with stakeholders to implement onboarding, integration, and development programming for entry-level lawyers.

  • Maintain data entry, recruitment records, and budgets for New York office summer program and recruiting efforts.

  • Manage payments and reimbursements related to on-campus recruitment events, summer program activities and candidate expenses.

  • Participate in data collection and analysis for purposes of completing necessary forms and surveys (i.e., NALP form).

  • Work overtime as needed, particularly during the summer program, on-campus interviewing and callback periods. Overtime may exceed 20 hours per week during peak recruiting seasons.

  • Position requires overnight travel for on-campus recruiting events throughout the year.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant recruitment, human resources, or legal industry experience.

  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, 6 years of relevant recruitment, human resources, or legal industry experience.

  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment highly preferred.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills; both written and verbal.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, responsiveness, and excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skillset that promotes an environment of collaboration, teamwork, client service, innovation, excellence, and commitment.

  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Adobe Acrobat.

  • Knowledge of Flo Recruit, viDesktop/viRecruit and/or Lawcruit, or other familiarity with applicant tracking systems is preferred.

  • Ability to adapt to new software.

  • Ability to develop, monitor and approve budgets and expenditures.

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The full time base annual salary for this position in the New York City market is expected to range between $75,000 and $100,000. This range represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for a position in New York City. Salaries in other markets will vary depending on market data. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
