POSITION SUMMARY:


DuBois Chemicals is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented entry-level Project Engineer to support the Equipment & Engineering Team. This role is focused on system development, equipment design, and documentation standardization across the organization.

The Project Engineer will play a key role in developing engineered solutions, creating and maintaining technical documentation, and supporting the execution of equipment systems to ensure consistency, reliability, and scalability. This position will provide foundational experience in engineering design, system integration, and project execution while contributing to long-term capability development within the Equipment Team.

At all times, the Project Engineer must follow the safety regulations of both DuBois and the customer. This role is expected to demonstrate the company's core competencies of communication, customer focus, innovation, integrity & ethics, lean & safety, and passion to succeed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support pilot projects, testing, and validation of new equipment designs
  • Support development and standardization of equipment system designs across key markets and applications
  • Create, review, and maintain engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Develop and maintain equipment documentation packages, including manuals, specifications, and SOP
  • Assist in design and layout of mechanical systems
  • Support system integration efforts, including controls and automation interfaces
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to refine and improve existing equipment designs
  • Ensure documentation accuracy, version control, and accessibility across the Equipment Team
  • Participate in internal design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in root cause analysis and design improvements based on field performance and feedback

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 0-2 years of relevant engineering, internship, or co-op experience
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design principles
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • High achievement orientation and willingness to learn
  • Up to 15-25% travel required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with CAD software (2D or 3D, such as Inventor or SolidWorks)
  • Exposure to industrial equipment, controls, or process systems
  • Basic understanding of PLCs, controls, or system integration concepts
