Job description

POSITION SUMMARY โ€“ Responsible for set-up and maintenance of all electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems on equipment used in the production process. Perform installation of process control and robotic equipment. Perform update modifications, preventative maintenance, and periodic performance checks. Maintain service records of the control devices and automated equipment, repairing when needed. Interact with all levels on the operational team. WORK ENVIRONMENT โ€” Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems
  • Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation procedures
  • Set up and test industrial equipment to ensure that it functions properly
  • Trouble shoot, repair, adjust, or calibrate industrial machines
  • Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests
  • Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications
  • Coordinate efforts with other workers involved in installing or maintaining equipment or components
  • Advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, or suggestions for product improvements
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems
  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and apply knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems
  • Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects, such as loose connections or frayed wires
  • Apply creative skills and related knowledge in electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, and the ability to install, program, troubleshoot, circuitry, control systems, and machinery
  • Perform testing, start-up, and troubleshooting of PLC and industrial control systems
  • Program robot for series of manipulator moves by using handheld teach pendant or pc and software package
  • Design, program, & troubleshoot PLC, industrial control systems and relay control circuits to include panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and interfaces
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
  • Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings.


SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems and/or robotic control systems
  • Knowledge of electronics
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and mechanical assembly preferred
  • Machining experience preferred

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Robotics technology preferred
Experience: One year of related experience preferred
Computer Skills:ย  Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient using Microsoft Office; Experience in PLC and HMI programming
