Job description

Introduction

As an IBM Consulting FutureNow Center Intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to help solve real business and technology challenges for clients around the world. You'll gain hands-on experience, build in-demand technical and professional skills, and contribute to meaningful projects while learning in a collaborative, team-based environment.

This internship is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience that prepares students for a potential full-time career with IBM Consulting upon graduation.

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers , where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

At IBM, you'll learn from experienced technology professionals while gaining hands-on experience with Salesforce application development and consulting practices.

During your internship, you may have opportunities to:

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with cross-functional teams to learn how requirements are gathered, support the definition of technical solutions, and contribute to project delivery under the guidance of experienced professionals.
  • Support Solution Design & Documentation: Assist in preparing technical specifications and documenting design decisions to support effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to High-Quality Software: Develop and test code with guidance, participate in code reviews, and learn software quality practices that support scalable, reusable solutions.
  • Develop Salesforce Applications: Contribute to Salesforce-based customer relationship management (CRM) solutions and customer engagement platforms across sales, service, and marketing, while learning to apply development practices that support user experience, performance, security, and quality.

As part of the Business Applications / Salesforce practice, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the development of Salesforce CRM solutions, customer engagement platforms, and sales, service, and marketing transformation initiatives.

You don't need experience with every technology listed. Many interns join IBM with a foundation in computer science, software engineering, or related technical disciplines and develop specialized expertise through mentorship, structured learning, certifications, hands-on projects, and AI-enabled tools.

Throughout your internship, you'll gain exposure to software engineering, cloud technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), DevOps, Agile, and Salesforce enterprise application development, while working with experienced engineers, architects, and technology professionals on real client projects across multiple industries.

We're not looking for experts; we hire for potential, curiosity, and a passion for learning.

High-performing interns may be considered for full-time Associate opportunities following graduation, based on business needs and individual performance.

To give yourself the best opportunity for success, we advise applying only to roles that align with your skills and experience, rather than applying broadly across all entry-level positions. You'll receive a status update email for each application, so be sure to check your IBM Careers account regularly - it's the best way to get a centralized view of which roles you have active applications against.
