Job description

Job Title: Data Engineer

Location: Gainesville, GA 30501

Duration: Full-Time

Compensation: $85K per year


Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong SQL and Azure data platform experience to support our data engineering and analytics initiatives. This role will focus on building and maintaining data pipelines, optimizing database performance, and enabling reporting and analytics across the organization.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with SQL performance optimization, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI, along with a solid understanding of modern data warehousing concepts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Data Factory.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for performance and scalability.
  • Perform SQL performance tuning, including indexing strategies and query execution plan analysis.
  • Support and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports used by business and analytics teams.
  • Design and maintain data warehouse structures, including fact and dimension tables using star schema modeling.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions that support reporting and analytics needs.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across analytics systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline, reporting, or database performance issues.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, including advanced querying, joins, indexing, and execution plans.
  • Proven experience with SQL performance tuning and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Experience supporting or developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Good understanding of data warehousing concepts, including star schema, fact tables, and dimension tables.
  • Experience writing and optimizing stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT frameworks and data pipeline architecture.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) (Tabular or Multidimensional).
  • Experience with Azure SQL Database or Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Lake and Medallion Architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold)
