The Associate Analytics Engineer supports the modernization of the organization's reporting and data environment. Initially focused heavily on Power BI development and reporting, this role will progressively move data models and business logic upstream from individual reports into centralized, reusable data and semantic layers.

Working with Analytics Engineers, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders, the Associate Analytics Engineer will maintain and enhance existing Power BI solutions while developing the skills and practices needed to build reliable, scalable, and well-governed data assets.

Power BI & Analytics
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
  • Translate business requirements into effective Power BI solutions and analytical experiences.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI data models, measures, and business logic.
  • Troubleshoot data, modeling, and report issues and improve report performance and usability.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate business definitions into consistent metrics and logic.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce duplicated logic and move reusable business logic upstream from individual Power BI reports.
Analytics Engineering & Data Modeling
  • Progressively migrate data models, transformations, and business logic from Power BI into centralized data and semantic layers.
  • Develop and maintain analytics-ready datasets using emerging Analytics Engineering practices and patterns.
  • Apply dimensional modeling concepts, including star schemas and other established data modeling practices.
  • Write clean, maintainable SQL to transform and prepare data for analytical use.
  • Contribute to reusable enterprise data assets and standardized business logic.
  • Partner with Analytics Engineers and Data Engineers to understand data structures, technical patterns, and implementation approaches.
Data Quality & Performance
  • Validate data and business logic to ensure reporting and analytical solutions are accurate and reliable.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Power BI and query performance.
  • Partner with Analytics and Data Engineers to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Support testing and validation of data models, metrics, and transformations.
Qualifications
  • Experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models.
  • Strong SQL skills and the ability to write clean, complex, and maintainable queries.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts, including star schemas and Kimball methodologies.
  • Experience developing business logic and metrics within Power BI.
  • Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks.
  • Exposure to Git, version control, testing, or other software development practices is a plus.
  • Interest in developing an Analytics Engineering skill set and applying engineering practices to data.
  • Ability to translate business requirements and definitions into clear, consistent data logic.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, Analytics Engineers, and Data Engineers.
