Job description

Join our multidisciplinary Spine Center providing comprehensive outpatient care for patients with acute and chronic spine conditions. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will work collaboratively with spine physicians, PM&R physicians, physical therapists, pain medicine specialists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with neck, back, and spine-related disorders.

The APP will independently evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, order and interpret diagnostic studies, provide patient education, coordinate care, and facilitate appropriate referrals. This role focuses on conservative spine management and care coordination and does not include operating room responsibilities or routine preoperative/postoperative management.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Obtaining comprehensive patient histories 
  • Performing focused musculoskeletal and neurologic examinations 
  • Ordering and interpreting imaging and diagnostic studies 
  • Formulating differential diagnoses and treatment plans 
  • Managing patients with degenerative spine conditions, radiculopathy, spinal stenosis, and other non-operative spine disorders 
  • Monitoring treatment effectiveness and modifying plans as appropriate 
  • Providing patient education on diagnosis, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications 
  • Coordinating care with PM&R, Physical Therapy, Pain Medicine, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Spine, and Primary Care 
  • Making appropriate referrals for conservative management or surgical evaluation when indicated 
  • Prescribing medications within scope of practice 
  • Demonstrating age-specific assessment and management of adult patients

Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, AGNP, AGPCNP, ACNP, AGACNP, or ACNPC-AG.

Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.

Additional Qualifications: 

Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.
