Job Description
About the Role
As an Intern at Amcor, you'll meet and learn from leaders across the organization, work on meaningful projects, and build the skills, knowledge and network that will propel your career forward. Amcor's internships are designed to encourage practical application of classroom concepts in an advanced industrial manufacturing environment. The Molding Human Resources Intern will provide essential support to the Molding HR Team and collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization. The Intern will gain valuable exposure to essential HR functions like:
  • Recruiting: source candidates, proliferate job postings, schedule interviews and pre-employment screenings, etc.
  • Onboarding: complete employment authorization, support biweekly New Hire Orientation preparations and execution, etc.
  • Employee Relations: escalate complaints to HR Generalists, observe investigations, discuss legal considerations, etc.
  • Employee Engagement: conduct pulse surveys, help plan and execute internal engagement events, coordinate anniversary recognition gifts, etc.
  • Data Management: run, audit, and analyze requested reports, update tracking spreadsheets, scan and e-file physical employment documentation, etc.

Projects that may be delegated to the Intern include:
  • Learn and lead entry-level recruitment and onboarding efforts by monitoring requisitions, screening applications, scheduling interviews, extending offers, and coordinating pre-employment requirements for New Hires in the Molding Plant.
  • Contribute to HRIS optimization by digitizing and accurately storing historical records in individual employee's Workday profiles.
  • Create user-friendly Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to continuously improve the HR Team's internal workflows. Utilize Lean and Six Sigma principles to enhance process efficiency, adherence to company policy, and quality of work.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, initiative, and follow-through from Day 1
  • Attend and observe meetings alongside the HR Coordinator, Generalist, and/or Manager
  • Communicate proactively using internal channels (FAQ boards, digital signage, email, MS Teams, etc.)
  • Model professionalism, active listening, empathy, and curiosity when interacting with all colleagues
  • Report on progress and challenges, collaborating with the HR Team to creatively troubleshoot issues
  • Embrace a team player mentality by approaching assigned tasks with openness and enthusiasm
  • Immediately notify the HR Team of safety concerns, code of conduct violations, and other emergencies

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled college student pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or related field. Senior class standing strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Office Suite products. Advanced skills in Excel strongly preferred.
  • Highly organized and intrinsically motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor
  • Previous exposure to HR processes/procedures and familiarity with ATS/HRIS strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in an office/administrative setting strongly preferred
