Note: Role is not equivalent to emergency-response ES&S roles-it is significantly more administrative.


Associate ES&S Technician shares with ES&S and/or ES&S Specialist (FSFL) the responsibility for the implementation of the ES&S management system (work processes, standards, procedures) in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate. Provides hands-on Emergency Services and Security activities for a specific plant.
Requires established basic ES&S skills to perform a range of routine work activities using existing standard ES&S procedures and or scientific analytical methods. Completes assigned tasks with a close to moderate degree of supervision.
Responsibilities/Duties
• Contribute to the development of documented equipment, maintenance, training and operational check requirements and amending as needed to match global local templates.
• Confirm the requirements meet the global local templates and initiating any required template changes.
• Contribute to developing operating discipline and using it to do emergency preparedness work and document performance.
• Check emergency preparedness task list annually to confirm tasks are value adding.
• Ensure that all maintenance training and operational check requirements meet global local templates and that all emergency preparedness tasks performed are value adding leading to all emergency systems equipment being ready for any emergency response.
• Complete the emergency preparedness tasks as per the site ES&S Preparedness Plan including Operating Discipline.
• Feedback any discrepancies to the proper step in the site ES&S Preparedness Plan.
• Operate emergency response equipment. Enact emergency response plans. Execute
Must-Have Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong computer and administrative skills
• Ability to manage multiple systems and data entry tasks
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Education & Experience
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience Level: Entry-level (0-3 years Security background OR Safety-related experience (basic facility safety awareness)
PPE Requirements
• Minimal PPE required
• PPE available onsite if needed
• Usage is rare due to primarily desk-based work
