How to get into plant genetics?

To pursue a career in plant genetics, obtain a bachelor's degree in biology, genetics, or a related field, and gain laboratory experience through internships or research projects. Advanced roles often require a master's or Ph.D. in plant science or genetics, along with skills in molecular techniques and data analysis.

What biology jobs pay over $100k?

Entry level plant genetics roles typically do not pay over $100,000; higher salaries are usually found in senior research positions, biotech management, or specialized roles requiring advanced degrees and experience. Will AI replace geneticists?

AI can assist plant geneticists by analyzing large datasets, identifying gene patterns, and automating certain tasks, but it is unlikely to fully replace the expertise and decision-making skills of human geneticists. The role of a plant geneticist involves complex problem-solving, experimental design, and interpretation that currently require human judgment. AI tools are valuable supplements but do not replace the need for specialized knowledge and hands-on research in plant genetics.

What jobs can I get if I study genetics?

With a background in genetics, you can pursue roles such as plant geneticist, research scientist, or laboratory technician, often working in agricultural, biotech, or research institutions. These jobs typically require skills in laboratory techniques, data analysis, and knowledge of genetic tools like CRISPR or DNA sequencing.
