Job description

Are you an experienced HVAC Service Technician looking for a company that respects your skills, pays you what you’re worth, and keeps your schedule full even in the winter?

At Blair’s Air Conditioning & Heating, we’ve been keeping the Tampa Bay area cool since 1974. We are a family-owned and operated business, which means you’re a valued member of the team, not just a truck number. We don’t do seasonal layoffs. If you have solid diagnostic skills and a great work ethic, we want to talk to you today.

Why Experienced HVAC Techs Choose Blair’s:

  • True Job Security: No "winter slowdown" layoffs. We keep our team busy all 12 months of the year.
  • High Earning Potential: Receive a steady, reliable hourly base pay plus an 8% commission on system sales. Boost your average hourly rate by $10/hr just by selling 2 to 4 units a month.
  • Respect & Independence: We trust our technicians to diagnose, repair, and recommend honest solutions without micromanagement.
  • Local, Family Values: We treat our team like family. We offer local dispatch, fully stocked trucks, and a supportive, drama-free work environment.

What We Are Looking For (Experience Required):

Please Note: This is not an entry-level or helper position. We are looking for an HVAC Tech who can step into a service truck on day one and confidently diagnose residential systems.

  • The Experience: Minimum of 1–2+ years of hands-on residential HVAC troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair experience.
  • The Credentials: Must have an EPA Certification (Type II or Universal) and a clean, valid driver's license.
  • Technical Chops: You can read a wiring diagram, troubleshoot electrical issues, and find the root cause of a system failure—not just replace parts.
  • Customer Skills: You are comfortable talking to homeowners, explaining what’s wrong with their AC, and offering honest solutions (including system replacements when necessary).

Your Daily Mission:

  • Diagnose & Repair: Run residential service calls throughout the Pinellas and Hillsborough County areas, troubleshooting and repairing central air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems.
  • Maintenance & Tune-Ups: Perform thorough preventative maintenance to keep our customers’ systems running efficiently.
  • Be the Advisor: Educate homeowners on their system’s health and confidently recommend upgrades, indoor air quality (IAQ) solutions, or system replacements.
  • Represent the Brand: Maintain a clean, organized company truck, keep a professional appearance, and deliver the honest, high-quality service Blair’s is known for.

Benefits & Perks:

  • Highly competitive hourly pay + uncapped commission structure
  • Fully stocked, modern company service vehicle
  • Paid holidays and paid time off (PTO)
  • Company-provided smart tablet and phone
  • Ongoing factory and in-house training to keep your skills sharp
  • Uniforms provided

How to Apply:

If you’re a local AC Tech who is ready for a better work environment, consistent hours, and a company that has your back, apply today! Submit your resume showing your residential HVAC experience, and we will get back to you quickly.
