Job description

NOW HIRING: YEAR-ROUND PET CARE TEAM MEMBER

Love dogs AND take pride in working hard? You might be a great fit for our team!

Working with dogs is incredibly rewarding, but there's a lot more to professional pet care than playing with puppies all day.

Our team works hard behind the scenes to make sure every dog at Pawz Away is safe, comfortable, happy, and well cared for. That means playtime and enrichment, but it also means cleaning, feeding, monitoring behavior, communicating with pet parents, and paying attention to all the little details that matter.

We're looking for someone who has a genuine passion for dogs and wants to learn, grow, and become a dependable part of our year-round team.

WE'RE PROUD OF THE TEAM WE'VE BUILT.

And we're looking for another A+ player to join us!

You may be a great fit if you:

- Are dependable and show up on time
-Bring a positive attitude to work
- Enjoy staying busy and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Are comfortable giving and receiving feedback
-Work well with a team but can confidently work independently
-Communicate clearly and honestly
-Are a multitasker while still paying attention to details
-Stay focused and can work without being on your cellphone
-Genuinely care about the dogs entrusted to you
-Can remain patient and calm around excited or nervous dogs
-Prefer teamwork and solutions over negativity and workplace drama
-Can stay physically active throughout your shift
-Can safely lift 50+ pounds
-Are available for a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays

Like to work hard and have fun with the people you work with!

WHAT WILL YOU ACTUALLY DO?

No two days are exactly the same!

You'll help with things like:

• Supervising daycare playgroups
• Providing one-on-one enrichment and activities
• Caring for our boarding guests
• Feeding and providing routine daily care
Administering daily medications to boarding guests when needed
• Learning canine body language and behavior
• Monitoring dogs for changes in behavior, comfort, or wellbeing
• Taking photos and helping with client updates
Greeting and speaking with clients about their pets
Checking daycare and boarding guests in and out
• Following detailed care instructions and accurately communicating important information to the team
• Cleaning and sanitizing kennels and play areas
• Laundry, dishes, sweeping, mopping, and plenty of poop cleanup
• Helping your teammates wherever you're needed

EXPERIENCE IS GREAT. THE RIGHT PERSON IS EVEN BETTER.

Professional animal-care experience is a plus, but we're also willing to train someone who brings the qualities we value most:

Reliability. Work ethic. Positivity. Attention to detail. Coachability. Great communication. And a genuine desire to learn.

This is an entry-level position with the opportunity for compensation and responsibility to grow quickly based on exceptional performance, reliability, and skill development.

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING LONG TERM?

So are we!

This is a year-round position on our core team.

Because our boarding guests are here 365 days a year, team members must be available for a rotating schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, and holidays.

We don't expect you to work every weekend, but weekend and holiday availability is an important part of working in professional pet care.

SOUND LIKE YOU?

If you're someone who shows up, works hard, wants to learn, loves dogs, enjoys interacting with their people too, supports your teammates, and can still laugh and have fun during a busy day...

We'd love to meet you.

Come learn, grow, and care for some pretty amazing dogs with the Pawz Away Pet Care team!

PLEASE NOTE: We kindly ask that applicants do not call regarding this position. Phone calls regarding employment tie up our phone line, which needs to remain available for our clients and the pets currently in our care. Please submit your application through the job posting, and we will reach out to candidates we'd like to speak with further. Thank you for understanding!
