BI's work with students with autism and related disorders ages 5 to 22-years-old. The BI is part of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to providing integrative educational care that gives students the opportunity to lead meaningful lives by eliminating or replacing disruptive, harmful, or negative behaviors and teaching them socially positive behaviors while supporting academic progress.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities of this class include but are not limited to: . Oversees classroom behaviors and academics under the direction of the teacher and Manager of Behavior Services for providing an opportunity for the student to participate in classroom activities. .

Assists in implementing student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP). . Implements and models alternative communication intervention strategies for teaching students to communicate effectively.

. Monitors and records data on academic and/or behavioral goals. .

Participates in mandatory training and other staff development programs as directed for the purpose of learning and enhancing new skillsets. . Report observations and incidents relating to specific students for the purpose of documenting and communicating information to appropriate personnel.

. Assists with student behavior management on the vans to and from school and when assigned to transportation duties during community-based instruction. .

Communicates with staff any necessary student information pertinent to maintaining the school's positive teaching and behavioral environment. . Works in the classroom with staff and students on a rotating basis to prevent crisis situations.
