Job description

DESCRIPTION:

The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools & Instructional Programs is seeking Part-time Instructors to support the Adult Education evening program.  

Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics Two (2) nights per week 6:00 - 9:00 PM (Anticipated)

Part-time Instructor needed for the Adult Career and Technical Education Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics Program. This program is anticipated to run two nights per week, from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Industry experience in advanced manufacturing and/or robotics strongly preferred. Instructor should have industry experience to teach in one of the following course areas: 

  • Introduction to Manufacturing
  • Manual Mill and Lathe Operation, Mastercam
  • Industrial Robotics & Cobot Fundamentals
  • CNC Programming: G & M Code Fundamentals
  • CNC Setup & Operation and Additive Manufacturing
  • Quality Inspection, Assurance and Measurement 
Auto Body Technician Two (2) nights per week 7:00 - 10:00 PM

Part-time Instructor needed for the Adult Career and Technical Education Auto Body Technician Program. This program meets two nights per week from 7:00 - 10:00 PM. This program is geared to prepare students for entry-level employment in the auto body industry. Instructor will lead hands-on training to teach students traditional techniques and best practices for repairing all types of vehicles. Students will learn about auto body safety and perfect skills in metal straightening, paint mixing and application, and detailing and paint correction. Students will also acquire different welding skills including oxyacetylene, arc welding (MIG), and nitrogen welding, perfecting their skills in plastic and urethane bumper repair as well as spray equipment. Industry experience required; teaching experience strongly preferred. 

Automotive Institute Monday - Thursday 6:30 - 9:30 PM 

Part-time Instructor needed for the Adult Career and Technical Education to teach a 540-hour Automotive Training Program. This program meets Monday - Thursday from 6:30 - 9:30 PM. Students will be trained in maintenance, engine repair, automatic and manual transmissions, steering and suspension, and electrical systems. Students will take entry-level Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) exams. 

Auto Technician Monday - Thursday 3:00 - 5:30 PM

Part-time Instructor needed for the Adult Career and Technical Education Entry-Level Career Training Program to teach students the basic skills for shop safety, oil changes, tires, brakes, and related tasks. This program runs from Monday - Thursday from 3:00 - 5:30 PM. Candidates with Industry experience as automotive technicians are strongly encouraged to apply. 

Building Maintenance Monday - Thursday 3:30 - 5:30 PM

Part-time Instructor needed for the Adult Career and Technical Education Building Maintenance Program for the Entry-Level Training Program to prepare adult learners to develop the practical skills needed to work in building maintenance and facilities support roles. This program runs Monday - Thursday from 3:30 - 5:30 PM. Students will be trained in essential maintenance tasks, including: basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs, painting, patching, and general upkeep, preventative maintenance procedures, safe use of tools and equipment. Instruction includes workplace safety practices, proper handling of materials, and OSHA standards.

Dental Assistant Two (2) nights per week 3:30 - 6:00 PM

Part-time instructor needed for the Adult Career and Technical Education Dental Assistant Program. This program meets two nights per week from 3:30 - 6:00 PM to provide training and instruction for students to acquire the necessary skills to work with a professional dental team providing patients with an excellent experience. Instructor will prepare students to assist with all dental procedures including four-handed dentistry, tray set-ups, infection control and sterilization techniques. Lead instruction on dental anatomy, oral cancer detection, radiology, and the uses of instruments and equipment. Industry experience required; teaching experience strongly preferred. 

Pet Grooming Two (2) nights per week 6:30 - 9:30 PM

Part-time Instructor needed for the Adult Career and Technical Education Program. This program meets two nights per week from 6:30 - 9:30 PM. Candidate will provide industry-aligned career training and experiences to assist students with acquiring the necessary skills to assimilate into the 21st-century workforce. Courses include:

  • Pet Grooming I: This course includes basic canine anatomy and animal behavior and using grooming equipment to bathe, dry, and groom pets.
  • Pet Grooming II: This course includes grooming styles used among different breeds and special grooming tools used to groom faces, blend coat lengths, and trim nails as well as interacting with pets and their owners.
Trade Electric  Two (2) nights per week 7:00 - 10:00 PM

Part-time Instructor needed for the Adult Career and Technical Education Program. This program meets two nights per week from 7:00 - 10:00 PM providing industry-aligned career training and experiences assist students with acquiring the necessary skills to assimilate into the 21st-century workforce. Courses include: 

  • NCCER Electric Level I: This course teaches the fundamentals through complex phases of commercial and residential electrical construction including wiring methods, switches, and circuits. Both classroom and workshop sessions will be taught.
  • Trade Electric - Motor Control: This course focuses on motor control including the conditions of start, stop, manual, remote, and automatic controls.


REQUIREMENTS:

    Industry related experience
    Previous teaching experience is preferred
