Job description

Proof of the Pudding is an award-winning catering company throughout the Southeast with a commitment to crafting creative culinary creations. This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more.
An Operations Team Member (AKA "Runner") plays a critical role in the overall logistics and operations of a tournament. An Ops Team Member will be at an event ~14-20 days per event to ensure set up, event operations, and post tournament packing are done efficiently and effectively. This role is most similar to a warehouse worker or entry level logistics manager or project manager position.
RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Stocking suites and tents throughout the event venue with equipment and food & beverage products according to pull-sheets or direction from the Operations Manager
  • Setting up back of house food service space including moving and installing coolers, assembling tables, carrying product and equipment
  • Multi-task, prioritize and operate independently in an efficient manner
  • Fully understand distribution lists, restock sheets, and ordering procedures
  • Quickly learn the event venue layout and be able to navigate efficiently and safely throughout the venue
    • Typical transportation will be a golf cart
  • Communicate efficiently and thoroughly with the onsite managers via walkie talkie, running product as needed and directed, being proactive with distribution.
  • Assist with disassembly and event breakdown: to include equipment clean-up and packing of trucks
  • Operate and load a golf cart in a safe manner

Performs other related duties as needed.
Education and/or Experience
  • Experience in a warehouse, packaging, food industry, or general labor is preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically throughout the year
    • Trips are usually from 2-5 weeks in length
    • Stamina to work over 12+ hours a day if needed
  • Must be available for a variety of shift times (nights and weekends are needed)
  • Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, ability to be DOT certified and have the ability/willingness to drive box trucks.
  • Experience in operating common warehouse machinery including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.

Work Environment
This position is often outside operating golf carts, moving product, on the loading dock or working in storage trucks that can be refrigerated or for frozen storage. This role is highly physical with an emphasis on organization, packing and distributing products and equipment while handling many projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of movement, moving through a limited space, and walking on various surfaces
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
  • Must have ability to frequently lift up to 60 lbs, push 150 pounds, and bend, lift, and carry product and equipment constantly

Position Salary & Benefits:
  • This is considered an hourly position with hours fluctuating based on the events schedule
    • Some weeks will have ample overtime while others may be limited
  • Benefits include paid travel expenses, lodging expenses, daily per diem, and meals onsite.
