Job description

TUBE MILL ENTRY LEVEL PACKAGER - 2nd Shift

Cleveland-Cliffs Tubular Components has an immediate opportunity for a Tube Mill Entry Level Operator at our Walbridge, Ohio Tubular Components location. This position is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and operating the off loader and packaging section of the tube mill on 2nd shift. This role is responsible for ensuring the tubing is off loaded and packaged per the customer requirements.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Offload, hand stack, and package steel tubing manually.
  • Assemble bundles correctly to protect product from damage.
  • Monitor auto off loaders to ensure tubes are off loading correctly.
  • Inspect finished goods and reject non-conforming product
  • Visually inspect tubing for quality defects.
  • Ability to use measuring devices to measure tubing.
  • Repacking and banding - repack tubing into bundles, pack, and / or band bundles according to customer requirements.
  • Technical skill set to perform changeovers and set up.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Prior automotive manufacturing experience preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed to support customer requirements
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety and position procedures
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Excellent safety record
  • Pre-Employment hair drug screen required

Preferred Qualifications:

        Prior automotive manufacturing experience

        Experience working in a production or manufacturing facility
