Job description

We are looking for an early-career accounting team member to join a collaborative finance team in Irvine, California. This contract position offers the chance to build practical experience across receivables, payables, reconciliations, general ledger activity, and month-end close while working alongside experienced accounting leaders. The role is well suited for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and motivated to grow within a fast-paced business environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage incoming customer payments, post transactions accurately, and maintain up-to-date accounts receivable records.
• Investigate account variances and follow through on resolving billing or payment discrepancies with accuracy and professionalism.
• Support invoice processing and assist with day-to-day accounts payable activities to ensure timely and accurate recordkeeping.
• Prepare journal entries and help maintain complete, organized general ledger documentation.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card activity, and other balance sheet accounts to confirm financial accuracy.
• Contribute to month-end closing tasks by compiling data, reviewing balances, and assisting with required accounting entries.
• Record deposits and update financial information within accounting platforms such as QuickBooks and internal systems.
• Maintain dependable financial records and follow established accounting procedures, while assisting with additional projects as needed.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, or an entry-level accountant role is preferred.
• Working knowledge of foundational accounting concepts and standard financial processes.
• Experience performing account reconciliations and maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, including the use of Pivot Tables.
• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and the ability to learn company-specific systems efficiently.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound problem-solving ability.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
