What is an entry level non retail job?

Entry-level non-retail jobs are positions outside the retail industry for workers with no previous experience. These jobs are in fields such as tech support, customer service, office administration, and general labor. Some positions involve working as an assistant or member of support staff for corporate management. Your duties in non-retail jobs depend on your profession. If you lack experience, you often undergo a training period during which you learn the skills to handle the responsibilities of the position. With the exception of work as an entry-level laborer, you likely perform some of your work on a computer, and even laborers may be required to interact with computerized equipment or inventory systems.

What skills and qualifications are needed for an entry level non retail job?

To thrive as an Entry Level Non-Retail professional, you typically need a high school diploma or bachelor's degree, strong organizational skills, and basic proficiency in office software. Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Office Suite, email platforms, and sometimes customer relationship management (CRM) systems is often required. Effective communication, problem-solving, and a willingness to learn are standout soft skills in this role. These abilities enable smooth workflow, facilitate team collaboration, and support career growth within administrative or office-based environments.

What types of projects or tasks can I expect to handle as an entry level non retail employee?

As an Entry Level Non Retail employee, you will typically support administrative, operational, or customer service teams depending on the industry. Your daily activities might include data entry, scheduling meetings, assisting with reporting, handling client communications, or supporting project coordination. You will often work under the supervision of more experienced staff, giving you opportunities to learn company processes and develop transferable skills. Collaboration with team members from different departments is common, allowing you to build a broad understanding of the business and identify areas for future growth.

Job description

We are seeking eager, entry-level Operations Coordinators to join our team! In this role, you’ll partner with our Operations Analysts on the Rep team, gaining hands-on experience while being guided by our pros to ensure items are set up correctly and product launches run smoothly. This is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the Rep field, learn from the best in the business, and develop your skills through mentorship and collaboration.

Who we are:

At Powerplay, we don’t just keep up with change—we run straight at it. We’re a team of retail and e-commerce experts that blend deep retail know-how with startup-level energy. We bring fresh ideas, sharp execution, and serious results to brands ready to scale. From strategy to shelf (and screen), we fast-track timelines, open new channels, and fuel brand growth like it’s our job—because it is.

We work with big-name brands you know, love, and probably have in your cart right now. From beauty to tech, toys to lifestyle, we partner with household names and niche brands alike, helping them scale with the biggest players in retail. We’re talking Amazon, TikTok Shop, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and more—every major platform, every key retailer, both online and in-store. We’re proud to be a top Amazon reseller with no plans on slowing down.

Our crew? A tight-knit team with 250+ years of combined experience and a shared obsession with what’s next. We work smart, move fast, and actually like each other. Titles take a backseat to action. We believe great ideas come from everywhere, and our culture reflects that—collaborative, creative, and a little bit scrappy in the best way.

We’re privately held and deeply rooted in doing great work with great people. We enjoy our weekly happy hours, the occasional potluck, and genuinely care about giving back—volunteering and supporting causes that matter to our team and community.

Everyone’s voice matters, ideas fly fast, and no one’s afraid to roll up their sleeves. We take pride in what we do, who we do it for, and the way we do it. The future of retail? We’re already on it.

Powerful solutions. Real results. Every brand. Every channel. Since 2007.

Who you are:

You are a hands-on, go-getter who is driven by results. You thrive in a strong team environment but can also work well independently. You want to make an impact in a growing company.
