Job description

Inova Children's Multispecialty is looking for a dedicated Pediatric RN Navigator - Diabetes Education to join the team. This role will be full time day shift from Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Pediatric RN Navigator - Diabetes Education Job Responsibilities:

  • Assesses the needs of pediatric diabetic patients and designs, implements and evaluates an individualized teaching plan for each patient. 

  • Serves as a resource for patients, community and hospital personnel. 

  • Provides nursing care and education to patients with a wide variety of clinical conditions. 

  • Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor. 

  • Provides emotional support to parents and caregivers, this position guides the family through the health system from diagnosis, testing, treatment, and follow-up care including social work, caretaker education and transportation to assist patients with navigating the continuum of care

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree Nursing

  • Licensure: RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.

  • Experience: 3 years of progressive clinical experience

  • Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association. Certified Diabetes Educator upon start.
