Job description

LaSalle Network is hiring for a Senior DevOps Engineer (Compute Platform) with a compute-focused, enterprise-leading company known for innovation and operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team working on maintaining and operating a private cloud stack that includes bare metal, OpenStack, and Kubernetes environments. The role is remote, offering flexibility while requiring expertise in day-to-day infrastructure operations. The Senior DevOps Engineer (Compute Platform) will focus on deploying, patching, troubleshooting, and maintaining the compute infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and performance. This contract role is ideal for someone with substantial operational experience in bare-metal environments, supporting enterprise-scale hardware and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities
  • Operate, deploy, and maintain existing compute infrastructure, including patching, provisioning, and firmware updates.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across hardware, operating systems, virtualization layers, and cloud platforms like OpenStack and Harvester HCI.
  • Support day-to-day operations including firmware management, hardware health monitoring, and on-call incident response.
  • Assist with automation of operational tasks using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Perform root cause analysis across complex, distributed systems including hardware and software layers.
  • Manage enterprise hardware such as Cisco UCS, Dell PowerEdge, and HPE servers.

Qualifications
  • 6+ years as a DevOps Engineer, SRE, or Infrastructure Operations Engineer supporting compute-focused environments.
  • Hands-on experience operating bare-metal environments at scale with PXE, Redfish, and BMaaS.
  • Operational expertise with OpenStack, Ubuntu Linux, KVM, and Harvester HCI.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability in cross-stack root cause analysis and incident management.
