Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst

Work environment is Monday - Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm in the designated office. Friday may be worked in-office or remotely, provided the remote setup supports the same efficiency as the office.

Usherwood Office Technology is seeking a Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst who will be a key frontline resource, responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health, stability, and performance of client IT infrastructures within a managed services environment. This entry-level position focuses on real-time monitoring of networks, servers, endpoints, backup systems, applications, and patch compliance across multiple client environments. The analyst is expected to respond promptly to system alerts, perform initial triage and troubleshooting of routine incidents, and escalate more complex issues to senior analysts or engineering teams when necessary. Working collaboratively with the NOC/SOC team, the Tier 1 Analyst helps ensure uninterrupted operations, proactive issue resolution, and consistent, high-quality service delivery to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor client networks, servers, endpoints, backup systems, and patch deployment status.
  • Incident Management: Triage and resolve alerts, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate complex issues to senior staff.
  • Patch Management: Track, monitor, and assist with deployment of critical and high-priority patches, ensuring client compliance.
  • Backup Oversight: Verify backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and escalate unresolved backup issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate incident, remediation, and resolution records within ticketing systems.
  • Collaboration: Work with Tier 2/3 engineers and SOC staff on escalated incidents or projects.
  • Security & Compliance: Support vulnerability remediation and follow security best practices across client environments.
  • Communication: Provide clear, timely updates to internal teams and clients regarding incidents and ongoing tasks.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • 1+ years of IT support, help desk, or network monitoring experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
  • Familiarity with system and network monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems (basic troubleshooting and administration).
  • Preferred certifications: CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft or Linux foundational certifications
