Your work environment at EXP

EXP is seeking an Entry-Level Laboratory Technician to support laboratory testing operations associated with roadway and heavy civil infrastructure projects. The technician will assist with sample preparation, testing, documentation, and general laboratory operations involving soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete materials. This position is intended for individuals interested in beginning a career in construction materials engineering and testing.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Assist laboratory personnel with testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete materials

  • Prepare samples for laboratory testing

  • Perform routine laboratory procedures under supervision

  • Assist with concrete cylinder handling, curing, and compression testing

  • Maintain testing records and laboratory documentation

  • Receive, organize, label, and store material samples

  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and equipment organization

  • Follow laboratory quality procedures and safety requirements

  • Assist with calibration tracking and equipment maintenance

  • Learn GDOT, ASTM, and AASHTO testing procedures and standards

  • Support laboratory staff with daily operational activities and sample management

What your experience looks like

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

  • Basic computer and organizational skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Valid driver's license preferred

  • Previous construction or laboratory experience preferred but not required
  • Technical school or college coursework in engineering, construction, or sciences is a plus
