Manufacturing Engineer I

Role Overview

Entry-level engineering role supporting manufacturing and repair operations.

Provides technical support and takes responsibility for assigned component families.

Ensures safe delivery of quality components in alignment with customer requirements.

Develops engineering knowledge and application skills through training and hands-on assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing manufacturing processes and methods including CNC machining.
  • Develop tooling and support process optimization initiatives.
  • Define inspection methods and quality criteria using manual and electronic tools such as CMM.
  • Monitor process performance based on first time quality and cycle time metrics.
  • Develop and document work procedures for manufacturing and repair processes.
  • Support corrective actions for nonconformance issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors on specifications, materials, and equipment procurement.
  • Estimate production time, staffing, and manufacturing costs.
  • Apply statistical methods to improve output and quality.
  • Support customer interactions to maintain quality and satisfaction.
  • Maintain tooling and assist with equipment programming.
  • Travel up to 10% as needed.
  • Support team goals, safety standards, and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical discipline.
  • Foundational knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and procedures.
  • Proficiency in mathematical and statistical analysis methods.
  • Experience with 3D modeling (SolidWorks), CAM software (e.g., MasterCAM, Siemens NX).
  • Familiarity with CMM tools (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) and quality tools (e.g., Minitab).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and maintain professionalism.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs as required in a manufacturing environment.
