Suitable for students with basic foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience, ideal for freshmen or sophomores who have completed only introductory courses.Job Summary
Performs standard secretarial and minor clerical duties. Types letters, memorandums and reports. Performs work for one or more individuals. Uses word processing equipment and/or PC in performing assigned tasks. Answers telephone and takes and relays messages.
Position Scope
- Types or word processes a variety of letters, memorandums, and reports in an accurate and efficient fashion.
- Utilizes word processing equipment and/or PC in the performance of assigned duties.
- Answers and screens telephone calls, greets and screens visitors, and provides information in accordance with organization policy. Takes and relays messages.
Requirements
- Must be able to type 35 wpm net.
- Must know how to use a personal computer and be familiar with most of the following software programs: WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Top Down, Quark Express, Printshop, Harvard Graphics, and Laser Award Maker.
- Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in English. Fluency in a foreign language is desirable but not required.
- Should be a high school graduate or the equivalent.
- Experience with programming/software development preferred.
- Preffered Computer Science/IT Major.
